I received my FANZCA in 2011, but today my passion extends far beyond the operating theatre. After more than 27 years in medicine, I’ve witnessed first-hand how obesity complicates health — from joint replacements to spinal surgery to high-risk pregnancies. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation of just how much weight impacts longevity and vitality. But my biggest shift came from my own health journey. At 102kg I was lethargic, pre-diabetic, and living with joint pain, high cholesterol and poor skin. Medicine hadn’t given me the tools to fix this. What finally worked was discovering the principles that truly move the needle: when to eat, what to eat, how and when to exercise, and how to pull the right levers to drive fat loss and muscle gain. Just as importantly, I came to understand the powerful role of hormones in obesity, and that excess weight is not the result of laziness, lack of willpower, or gluttony — but rather the environment we live in and the misinformation we’ve been given about health. These principles transformed my health, helping me reset my metabolism, reclaim energy, and return to vitality. That’s why I acquired SuperFastDiet and launched The Health Accelerator: to help both men and women cut through the noise, apply science in simple, practical ways, and create sustainable strategies for long-term health. My mission is to challenge outdated models of weight loss, translate the science into clear language, and empower people to reclaim their health, energy, and longevity.
